Low Android App
Privacy Policy for Low
This Privacy Policy explains how Low collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Low Android app.
Information We Collect
Low is designed to work without account registration. The app may collect or process:
- Saved recipes and recipe preferences stored locally on your device.
- Plain-text content that you intentionally share to the app from another Android app.
- Usage and diagnostic data collected through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
- Technical request data generated when the app loads remote recipe images from third-party servers.
Low does not use its core flows to directly collect your name, phone number, payment card details, precise location, government ID numbers, or health data.
How We Use Information
- To show recipe content and support app navigation.
- To save your favorite recipes on your device.
- To display text you intentionally share to the app.
- To improve app performance, reliability, and stability.
- To detect, investigate, and fix crashes or technical problems.
- To comply with legal obligations when required.
Local Storage
When you save a recipe, Low stores recipe details locally on your device so the Saved Recipes feature works properly. This information stays on your device unless you remove it or uninstall the app.
Analytics and Crash Reporting
Low uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics in release builds to collect app usage events, screen views, device and app metadata, crash logs, and related diagnostics. This information is used to improve app performance, reliability, and stability.
Remote Images and Third Parties
Some recipe images may be loaded from third-party hosts referenced in the app’s bundled
recipe catalog, including hosts such as assets.epicurious.com. When your
device requests those images, the third-party host may receive technical information such
as your IP address, request time, and the requested image URL.
Google may also process technical and diagnostic information as part of Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. We may disclose information if required by law or as part of a business transfer, merger, or sale.
Data Retention
- Saved recipes remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.
- Shared text is shown in-app when received and is not stored as part of an account profile.
- Analytics and crash data are retained according to the retention settings configured in Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing or request data portability where applicable.
To make a privacy request, email javierrr29@gmail.com.
Children’s Privacy
Low is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will review the request.
Security
We use reasonable measures designed to protect information processed by the app. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
